Terranix Lite User Guide

This guide explains how to use Terranix Lite for your own work: signing in, recording the time you spend on projects, recording your attendance, and seeing your hours and the amount they come to.

It is intended for everyone who uses a Lite workspace. Managing projects, people, hourly rates and reports is covered in the Terranix Lite Admin Guide.

How Terranix Lite is laid out

Terranix Lite is the small version of Terranix. It does four things: it records the time people spend on projects, it records attendance, it keeps the list of projects and people, and it adds the hours up into amounts. Every screen has the same three parts: a bar across the top, your work in the middle, and a row of tabs along the bottom.

Workspace
Your company's own area in Terranix. Everything you see — projects, people, hours — belongs to your company alone.
Access level
What you are allowed to see and do. There are three: Standard, Admin and Owner. On a computer it is shown on a label in the top bar. On a phone, press the key button and look under Signed in as. This guide is for Standard users; what Admins and the Owner can do in addition is in the Terranix Lite Admin Guide.
Hourly rate
The amount set for one hour of a person's work. An Admin or the Owner sets it for each person.
Amount
Hours multiplied by the hourly rate. Lite shows it for each person and each project.

Computer or phone

Terranix Lite has the same screens, the same tabs and the same buttons on a computer and on a phone. Nothing is missing on either. On a computer the screen is simply wider, which gives long lines more room. Most pictures in this guide were taken on a phone; a picture labelled Computer shows a screen that is easier to read at full width.

Getting started

You cannot register yourself. An Admin or the Owner of your company adds you, and Terranix emails you an invite link. Open the link and choose your own password; after that you sign in with your work email and that password.

Open the Terranix Lite address your company gave you and sign in with your work email and the password you chose from your invite link.

  1. 1Your work email.
  2. 2Your password.
  3. 3Forgotten your password? This opens the reset page.
  4. 4Sign in.

Turn on the authenticator app

Press the shield button in the top bar. Press Turn on authenticator, enter your password again, and add the account to an authenticator app: scan the QR code on a computer, or press Open in authenticator app on a phone. Type the 6-digit code the app shows and press Turn on.

Terranix then shows ten recovery codes, once. Save them somewhere safe before you close the box.

  1. 1The authenticator card. It says On once you have turned it on.
  2. 2Starts the set-up. You are asked for your password first.

Recording your time

At the end of each day, record how long you worked on each project. One entry is one project, one date and a stretch of time. You can give the time as a number of hours, or as a start time and an end time. There is nothing to send for approval: in Lite an entry counts as soon as you save it.

11

Your timesheet

Phone

The Timesheet tab lists the entries you have made, newest first. Each one shows the project, the task if you chose one, your note, the hours, the date and the time it ran, and whether its month is still open.

  1. 1Add an entry.
  2. 2How many entries you have made in all.
  3. 3Open — the month has not been closed, so you can still change this entry.
  4. 4The date, then the start and end times, for example 2026-09-08 · 09:00–13:30.
  5. 5Edit changes the entry. Delete, beside it, removes it after asking you to confirm.
  6. 6Closed, with a padlock — an Admin or the Owner has closed that month. The entry can no longer be changed.
Your timesheet — Phone screen
Open month
A month in which you can add, change and delete your own entries.
Closed month
A month an Admin or the Owner has closed, usually once everyone's time for it is complete. Its entries are final. Only the Owner can reopen it.

Log your time

Phone

Press Log time. Choose the project, the task if there is one, the date and the number of hours. The note is optional.

If you know when you started and stopped, press Use start–end beside the Hours label instead. The next step shows it.

Press Submit timesheet entry to save.

  1. 1Project — the projects you are allotted to.
  2. 2Task — what kind of work it was. Choose one from the project's list, or leave it at No task.
  3. 3Date — the day you did the work. It starts on today.
  4. 4Use start–end — changes the Hours box into a start time and an end time.
  5. 5Hours — how long you worked, in steps of a quarter of an hour. 1.5 is an hour and a half.

Log your time with start and end times

Phone

Press Use start–end beside the Hours label. The label changes from Hours to Time, and the Hours box is replaced by two time boxes with a dash between them: the start on the left and the end on the right. The Date box takes the full width.

Type when you started and when you stopped. Lite works out the hours. Press Use hours to go back to the Hours box.

  1. 1Date — now across the full width of the form.
  2. 2Use hours — goes back to the Hours box.
  3. 3Start — the time you began, on a 24-hour clock.
  4. 4End — the time you stopped. It must be later than the start.
  5. 5Saves the entry.

If an entry falls outside your check-in

Phone

After you save, a box called Entry saved may appear. It says, for example, “Saved. This time is outside your check-in for the day (08:30–17:00).” Press its button to close it.

The entry is saved either way. The box is only a notice.

Not pictured: the notice appears only after an entry is saved, and the capture never saves anything.

15

Change or delete an entry

Phone

Press Edit on an entry that is marked Open. The form opens on the entry's saved start and end times. Change the project, the task, the date, the times (or the hours, if you switch with Use hours) or the note, and press Save changes.

To remove an entry, press Delete on its line. Lite asks you to confirm, because a deleted entry cannot be brought back.

  1. 1Correct the start and end times, or any other field.
  2. 2Saves the change.

Voice commands

A round microphone button is a shortcut for four things you do every day: checking in, checking out, and logging time by hours or by start and end times. Tap it, say one command, read the card that appears and tap the button on the card. It is on every Lite screen, on a computer and on a phone, at the bottom right above the tabs.
